Sculptural Vases and Platters

Sculptural Vases
These vases combine bases and tops that show off the many striking and contrasting qualities of fired clay. I initially made collar vases with wheel-thrown bases and hand-built tops, which evolved into duckpots, conepots, and crackpots, some made entirely of textured slabs. These pieces can be quite large and elaborate and can take several days to prepare and assemble.
